What have you tried so far to reach your digtial audience?

How  have you developed or tried to develop your online credibility?

  1. At first I simply told my friends and family through word-of-mouth. I then began posting links to that day's comic as my facebook status. Views really jumped when I added my page to the "Stumbleupon" website. Since then I've enlisted my wife and siblings to spread the word, daily, to their friends. We currently have about 150 hits per day.

  2. I have really only told a few friends and family about the blog, since I haven't announced in general that I'm pregnant and my blog is about my pregnancy. But I have been reading several blogs similar to mine, and gaining perspective into what people are looking for in a blog like mine.

  3. I've definitely posted a link to the blog on Facebook every time I update, and I will sometimes mention it in my status. I also sent out a mass text to some family and friends to get them to read it. Finally, today at work, I'm going to announce it in prayer meeting so that everyone knows about it.

  4. I've been relying on word of mouth with my friends and my family. Also, I've updated my Facebook and Twitter, and will do that most every time I post. I have gotten several followers so far, so I think it will also take a bit of time. I have also been tying in information I put on my blog with pop culture and current affairs, so that it can be enjoyed by a wider audience than just those who like books and traveling. I've also attached links for ways to share a blog post, which they can do via Facebook, Twitter, etc.

  5. I posted a link to my blog on Facebook when I first started it and have continued to let people know via status updates when I've added something to my blog. I tried an experiment the other day and posted something on the blog without posting on Facebook; I didn't have as many comments as on some of my other posts, but I still had people comment, which reassured me that people aren't just feeling obligated to look at it when I post about it on Facebook. I've also been telling people about it when they ask me about how my pregnancy is going. I say that my blog is a great way to read all about it! :)

  6. This is actually my biggest problem. I know that I could find people to look at my blog, but my intended audience is a little harder for me to reach. Most of my facebook friends and those who follow my wife's blog are not current BYU students or living in Provo/SLC. I am trying to think of ways to get people to see my blog. I have considered making announcements before the beginning of my classes, but I feel like that is a little old-fashioned. I guess if it gets me an audience it would be worth it though.

  7. I've been experimenting with tags and ways to boost one's ratings on Google searches. My audience is kind of small, so I can't just vomit stuff out onto Facebook, for example. Other than that, I'm not sure what to do.

  8. I've posted about my Twitter account on Facebook, and I'm planning on doing so for my blog as well this week. I've also gained some followers by jumping in on a few of the discussions related to the topic of my tweets. I was lucky that a strong discussion about the banning of the young adult book "Speak" came into play this week, with an active and passionate group of people talking about the idea on Twitter under the hashtag #SpeakLoudly. This has allowed for some good discussion and finding people who would be interested in the topic of my Twitter account.

  9. I also put links to my blog on facebook and reccomended my blog to friends and family. I use tumblr.com and one of the features I like about it is that you can reblog other blog's posts, so I rebloged the first post of my blog with my old account and asked my followers for that blog to follow my new one!

  10. I have posted it on Facebook and told all my friends and family about it. I also tried doing the stumbleupon but I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly because I don't have as many hits as Chad! Anyways I am trying to keep the blog interesting and interactive but I'm still working on that.

  11. I haven't been able to record anything yet, I've been trying to find a suitable method for recording my videos with good sound quality. I should be posting my first video this week though, and I've been running my ideas through my head. I think I will definitely advertise my vids on Facebook. Additionally I will make links to my videos from their originals, and also post links on other cover songs of my version as well. -Cambria

  14. I'm loving this stuff. I took over Cosmo's Facebook account (under the direction of the Furball himself) and have been trying to differentiate him with the other poser Cosmo's on Facebook and Twitter. I figured if I did this then people would know who the real Cosmo is online and crazy Cougar fans would follow him (via Facebook, Twitter, blogging) and participate. I differentiated im by giving him a middle name (Julius) and then I have been friending like 100 people a day. I link the Twitter posts so they show up on Facebook, and have been telling people where Cosmo will be - like the Mascot Bowl he went to last night. He'll send me pictures, I'm posting, and I'm pretty active, and then Cosmo is showing up on peoples Facebooks so they see what's going on.

Friend Cosmo J. Cougar on Facebook!

  15. I've commented on Food Network's website and put a link to my Twitter account in my comment. I don't think that it was very effective as a good way to get people to my account.

  16. All I have used so far is email and Facebook....as well as the old fashion word of mouth routine. I have a few followers, but they are just friends and family. I want followers from people that I don't know, so I am planning on utilizing twitter.

  18. I've redesigned my blog to be (I hope) visually appealing and accessible. I've added facebook like buttons, and ways to follow me on Twitter and through RSS feeds. I have a "Share Sidebar" so any users can share posts with a number of different social media sites. It's taken a lot of learning about HTML code and where to put things, but it's been pretty cool to learn all this stuff.

  19. I've begun tweeting @ multiple people in the hopes to broaden my audience, have begun to develop my youtube persona that I will promote, and include a link to my twitter, and will begin following multiple people with similar interests in the hopes that they shall follow me. LOLZ!
